ABOUT THE FOUNDER OF THE QUARTER JAR...

Hey y’all! My name is Jess Lyons, and I’m founder of The Quarter Jar. My journey of frugal living started almost 8 years ago. I had just became a mommy for the first time, and let me tell ya, those tiny humans are not cheap! I was a single mommy to an amazing little boy, and we were struggling. Bills were piling up, the baby needed necessities, we needed household necessities, daycare was expensive, the list goes on and on. We were sinking, fast!



I decided I needed to figure something out, because my minimum wage job was just not cutting it. I sat down at my kitchen table and brainstormed different ideas to make some extra side money, while trying to save money on the stuff I had to buy. One of my favorite things to do is use resources that are available to me online. If they’re there, why not utilize them? I researched many, many websites on how to save money and how to earn money. I found there were so many possibilities available to me.



It was so overwhelming at first. I had all these different sites who claimed I could make a bunch of money from them. But...who was real and who was a scam? I basically was left to trial and error them all. And I did. I personally started with survey sites. It was a way to make money when I had extra time and I wasn't committed to anything. I had to work really hard for awhile and then it all paid off. I finally began receiving checks, and gift cards to places. I know, gift cards can't pay your bills. I found the gift card rewards benefiting because I could pick stores I shopped at and use them for our household necessities and it was less I had to spend my paycheck on. Survey sites alone won't give you a livable income, so I also got into freelance writing. I finally got myself to a spot where I had all my bills paid on time and even some extra money to put away.



Fast forward to the creation of The Quarter Jar. With all my hard work paying off, I was able to quit my job and provide myself with a way-above-minimum-wage income by working from home. I now have three amazing kiddos that I’m able to stay home with, and I love being my own boss. After much encouragement from my family, I decided to create a place where I could help others succeed in their goal of working from home. That’s when The Quarter Jar was born.

I only post legitimate sites and make sure to keep you up to date on any scam sites I come across.
